Q. Am I born with a mantle unique to me, or must I inherit mine from someone else?
A. We all come into this world with nothing. The truth is you were born naked with a mandate. Your DNA contains the blueprint for your Kingdom assignment. Your mantle is more like the Dickies, hard hat, building permit, and tool belt to get the job done.
What type of natural and/or spiritual family you were placed in will reveal more about the blueprint. Father God is far too savvy to misplace you. Your mantle is inherited as a rite of passage into maturity, to enable you to do Kingdom business on His behalf. Remember, the mantle was birthed in covenantal sacrifice and can only be inherited through covenant relationship.
It is often said of highly successful people, “They were born to do that!” This is true only to a point. That person had to pay a price to enter into his or her inheritance. Your daily obedience to the call on your life, will keep you in position to inherit your mantle when the time comes. It is said of Jesus in Hebrews 5:8-10 NIV:
“Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered, and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him, and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek.”
The mantle of Christ, that glorious robe of righteousness we inherit through faith in him, came at a tremendous cost! Though He was born for that purpose, he chose to fulfill it, thus inheriting the mantle of High Priest through the line of Melchizedek. Your mantle will always come through another.
Q. It seems there is no inheritance available to me in my spiritual family. How can I receive my mantle?
A. A mantle waits for you in the house where Father places you. If there is no inheritance there for you, ask Father if you are in the right place. Many men and women of destiny have failed to walk in their divine purpose because of their refusal to align with the right house. Some mistakenly expect mantles to fall from the heavens, apart from divinely connected relationships. Listen to and obey the leading of Father who “Teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go,” Isaiah 48:17 NIV.
